Impregnation plant
Classical method
Pressure treatment by chromated copper arsenate (CCA) is by far the most widely used method for wood protection
Disadvantage: CCA treated wood is banned or to be phased out in most countries due to environmental reasons
A superior Supercritical CO2 Wood Treatment Process has been developed by FLS (Denmark) and a commercial plant was set up in cooperation with NATEX:
- CO2 instead of an organic solvent
- use of organic fungicides (Tebukonazole, Propikonazole)
- much shorter impregnation time
- no drop-off or evaporation
- no change in the wood or in moisture content
